Abstract

1291725 Joining corrugated sheets R E FAWCETT 16 Oct 1970 [19 Sept 1969] 46360/69 Heading E1K Two profiled or corrugated sheets 11a, 11b Figure 1, are joined edge-to-edge at an angle by folding the marginal edge of sheet 11b so that portions 24 project on the opposite side of the sheet to the peaks 13. The marginal edge of sheet 11a is folded so that portions 23 project on the same side as the peaks and thus the edge of sheet 11b can be superimposed on the edge of sheet 11a. The lengths of the folds 14a, 16a can be varied to alter the angle between the sheets. A narrow section of sheet may be used to joint two main sheets at an angle, e.g. at the ridge of a pitched roof. A sheet folded in the same manner as 11b may abut the intermediate portion of an unfolded sheet to form a T-joint. Continuously corrugated sheets may be folded as shown in Figure 15 to form an overlapping edge joint.
