Abstract

1291249 Centrifugal pumps ACF INDUSTRIES Inc 9 Sept 1969 [10 Sept 1968] 44417/69 Heading F1C In a submersible centrifugal fuel pump, the impeller 20, Fig. 4, comprises a plate 36 provided on one side with arcuate vanes 38 which are provided with fillets (42), Fig. 3 (not shown), on their trailing sides to reduce cavitation thereat. The other side of the plate has an annular rib 44 and a series of short vanes 46 which restrains the fuel from passing over the top of the impeller but allows air and vapour to move thereover and return to the fuel tank via opening 28 and passage 32. The pump housing 10 is of plastics material and is provided with an inlet 12, and a perforated metallic inlet plate 22 supported on lugs 24.
