Abstract

1286111 Processing photographic colour films and papers KMS INDUSTRIES Inc 11 Sept 1969 [20 March 1969] 44797/69 Heading G2C Exposed photographic silver halide colour films and papers of the type which contain colour couplers are processed by (i) treating with a colour developing solution having a pH of 10À2-11À8; (ii) without intermediate washing, transferring them to a bleach fix solution of pH 6À8-7À0 containing trisodium phosphate 12À75g., sodium sulphite 5À0g., monosodium ferric ethylene diamine tetracetic acid 23À4g., disodium ethylene diamine tetracetic acid 8À1g., KI1À35g, ammonium thiosulphate 60% 105 cc, and sodium metabisulphite 16g, the films only being treated before bleach-fix treatment in a stopfix bath of pH 4À3-4À6; (iii) washing the films and papers; and (iv) treating them with a dye-image stabilizer solution. A variety of colour developer and stop-fix formulations is given. The dyeimage stabilizer solutions contain formaldehyde and a wetting agent for films and formeldehyde, sodium phosphate and disodium EDTA for papers. The processing solutions may be formulated in kit form, the said kit of solutions being capable of processing either colour film or colour papers. The solutions and concentrates may be coloured with dyes for identification purposes.
