Abstract

1286175 Pressurized dispensing containers; caps STRAUB CHEMIE 15 Oct 1970 48934/70 Heading F1R An assembly of a pressurized dispensing container and protective cap 2 therefor comprises, means, on said cap for engaging said container such that the container may be suspended therefrom, means 14, 11, 18, 8 for operating a valve 6 of the container and a discharge opening 15 for efflux of the spray, the cap being arranged to be secured to a vertical surface. Preferably, the cap has axially spaced ribs 1 having a hole 3α therebetween for engagement by a hook or nail 3b in a wall, or a plane portion (19) Fig.3 (not shown) may be provided having an adhesive layer (20) covered by a tear-off protective strip (21). The operating means comprises a draw cord 14, a lever 11 having a cam 18 which depresses a pressure lever 8 to actuate the valve stem 9, so discharging fluid through a hole 10 and opening 15, an adjustable flap 17 serving to deflect any spray. The lever 11 and pressure lever may be integral, forming a sleeve (22) engageable with the valve stem 9. A hinge 12 of lever 11 may be a weakened area or a film hinge and two frangible bridging tongues (24) may be provided on lever to prevent prior accidental operation.
