Abstract

1286041 Supplying bobbins to machines MAREMONT CORP 5 Jan 1970 [11 Feb 1969] 388/70 Heading D1F Tapered bobbins 10 are removed from a hopper 6, oriented so that they pass through a chute 25 large end first, and loaded onto a conveyor 50. A pivoted carrier 30 (Fig. 5), moved by cylinder 38 allows one bobbin at a time to fall from hopper 6 onto a plate 20, through a hole 32. The carrier 30 is pivoted, pushing the bobbin past tapered fingers 22, one of which engages the large end, and moves the bobbin axially towards the smaller. At the end of this movement, the bobbin drops into a funnel-shaped portion of chute 25, its small end hitting an abutment 24 so that the large end travels down the chute first, to a second carrier 40. This carrier has an open side 41, is pivoted about a vertical rod 46, and is also moved by cylinder 38 when a notch 54 in a motor-driven conveyor belt 50 (Fig. 3) allows air to flow from a pipe 66 to a pipe 68. The carrier 40 is thus moved in synchronism with projections 52 on the belt 50, so that the bobbin is transferred thereto. Air flow between pipes 65 and 67, as the conveyor progresses, returns the two carriers 30, 40 to the Fig. 1 position.
