Abstract

1279291 Cyclized rubber/butadiene-styrene copolymer compositions RICOH KK 5 June 1969 [5 June 1968 25 Sept 1968] 28477/69 Headings C3P and C3Q [Also in Division G2] Electrostatographic liquid developer comprises a dispersion in (1) an electrically insulating paraffinic, isoparaffinic, naphtha or halogenated hydrocarbon carrier liquid, of (2) toner particles comprising (a) pigment particles coated with (b) cyclized rubber and (c) at least one resin selected from either (i) alkyd resins, varnishes obtained from synthetic resins and drying oils, and styrene-containing resins, or (ii) phenolaldehyde resins, phenol-modified xylene resins, styrene/hydroxyethylmethacrylate resins and styrene/butylmethacrylate resins. The examples describe developers containing toner particles of cyclized rubber, copoly(styrene/ butadiene) and an organic pigment or carbon black, dispersed in a mixture of hydrocarbons.
