Abstract
1278621 Photographic materials IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 18 Feb 1970 [14 March 1969 22 May 1969 8 July 1969] 13577/69 26210/69 and 34416/69 Heading G2C [Also in Division C4] Photographic materials contain filter, antihalation screening, layer-balancing and acutance methine dyes, which in one tautomeric form, are of formula: (in which X is E<SP>1</SP> or -CH = E<SP>2</SP>; E<SP>1</SP> is residue of a compound having a reactive CH 2 group, the methine chain being attached to the C atom in this group; E<SP>2</SP> is a residue of a 5 or 6 membered heterocyclic ring containing a -C=N- or -C=C-C=N- group in ,the ring, the ring optionally being part of a fused ring system, the methine chain being attached to a carbon atom which is -or - to the N atom shown in the group; n is 1-3; Z is H or optionally substituted amino, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or heterocyclyl; T<SP>1</SP> is H, OH, CN, -CO 2 R 1 -CONR 1 R 2 , -COR, or optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or heterocyclyl; T<SP>2</SP> is H, CN, -CO 2 R 3 , -CONR 3 R 4 , -COR 3 or optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or heterocyclyl; R1-4 are each H or optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or heterocyclyl, or R 1 and R 2 and/or R 3 and R 4 together complete a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring.
