Abstract

1275178 Coke oven doors KOPPERS CO Inc 28 May 1970 [30 June 1969] 25861/70 Heading C5E An apparatus for urging a coke oven door 11 against a door jamb 15 at one end of a coking chamber comprises a main frame 21 defining the perimeter of the door and a sub-frame (49), see Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown), mounted on the frame 21, the frame (49) supporting latch means 63, 64 adapted to coact with a catch 66 on the jamb 15 to urge the door against the jamb. The latch means comprises a housing 63 and a bar 64 rotatable about a shaft, and the frame (49) comprises side, end and intermediate members (53, 55, 57, 59, 61). A second sub-frame (51) and associated latch means is mounted on the door which has a sealing ring 17 clamped by an endless band 29.
