Abstract

1,274,039. Polishing. R. F. MOREILLON. 17 July, 1969 [26 July, 1968], No. 36003/69. Heading B3D. A machine for polishing and removing burrs from metalware, particularly silverware, comprises a stationary trough-like container 2 containing spherical polishing members 23 and provided with a movable conveyer belt 6 defining a trough for the members 23. The belt 6 is preferably roughened, and is supported on rollers 7-10, at least one 8 being adjutsable for tensioning, and is driven through the container 2 by an electric motor 12. Side walls 4, 5, Fig. 1, of the container may have flanges 16 for engaging over the edges of the belt 6 to prevent escape of charge, or a rotatable sealing wheel 18 behind a sealing wall 17 may engage the belt edges in the arcuate region of its path. Material 25 to be polished is charged into the polishing liquid 24/ polishing members 23 system through a door 20, possibly during continuous machine operation.
