Abstract
1,272,169. Inertia weight dampers. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NURNBERG A.G. 21 Sept., 1970 [20 Sept., 1969], No. 44872/70. Heading F2S. [Also in Division F1] Vibration of a turbine or compressor blade 4 is damped by a closed tubular member 1 mounted in a hole through the blade transverse to the chord and containing a liquid 5, e.g. the metal gallium. The member 1 is secured to the blade by friction, sticking, welding, riveting or screwing and is disposed at a point where the amplitude of vibration would be large.
