[Also in Divisions A2 and C6] A rubber dog bone comprises, as a sweetener, the d-enantiomorph of a substituted tryptophane of formula where R=halogen atom of atomic wt. less than 85, a lower (i.e. C1-C4) alkyl, lower alkoxy or trifluoromethyl radical and R<SP>1</SP> = hydrogen atom, halogen atom of atomic wt. less than 85, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy radical, R<SP>1</SP> being hydrogen when R is trifluoromethyl, or a non-toxic salt thereof.
