Abstract
1,269,692. Substituted acid anilide. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK A.G. 1 Aug., 1969 [2 Aug., 1968], No. 38608/69. Heading C2C. The invention comprises compounds of formula where X denotes thiocyano, a nitro group, halogen or a trifluoromethyl radical or an alkyl or alkoxy radical having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, R denotes an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon radical having not more than 4 carbon atoms which may be substituted by halogen or by cyano, R<SP>1</SP> denotes an alkynyl radical having 5 carbon atoms which may be substituted by a halogen, -OH or -CN group and n is 0, 1, 2 or 3. These compounds may be prepared by treating an unsubstituted or appropriately substituted N-3-methyl-butyr- (1 )-yl-3-aniline with an appropriate acid halide. The invention also comprises a herbicidal composition comprising a solid or liquid carrier and a substituted acid anilide as defined above.
