Abstract
1,268,170. Quinophthalone dyes. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 18 Dec., 1970 [18 Dec., 1969], No. 60254/70. Heading C4P. Quinophthalone dyestuffs have the general formula in which: R 1 denotes an optionally substituted cycloalkoxy radical or the radical of an optionally substituted cyclic amine; each R 2 independently represents alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, nitro or acylamino, or the remaining members of a fused benzene ring; and n represents 0, 1, 2 or 3. Specified cyclic amines are pyrrolidine, piperidine, thiomorpholine and its dioxide, morpholine, hexamethyleneimine and triethyleneimine. The cycloalkyl and cyclic amine radicals may be substituted by alkyl, alkoxy, Cl or Br. The dyes are prepared by reacting an appropriate quinophthalone acid halide with a cycloalkanol or cyclic amine.
