Abstract

1,267,202. Animal holding devices. W. CARSON. 4 March, 1969 [18 Oct., 1968], No. 49503/68. Heading A5R. A stand for holding pigs during castration comprises two parallel bars 12 spaced apart, a rod 16 located transversely between the bars and a pin 19 transversely mountable in one of a plurality of locations in pairs of corresponding holes 17 in the bars 12. The bars 12 are vertically mounted on limbs 11 of a U- frame 10 which is supported on pairs of legs 13. In one embodiment, Fig. 1, the pair of legs at the open end of the U-frame are longer than that at the other, and in another (Fig. 2) not shown, the legs at the closed end (14) are longer. The rod 16 may be provided with a detachable sleeve (18) of a plastics material and be detachably mounted in notches (22).
