Abstract

1,266,337. Endless conveyers. J. MURPHY & SONS Ltd. 5 Dec., 1969 [12 Sept., 1968], No. 43513/68. Heading B8A. A portable conveyer for discharging railway hopper wagons 39 comprises an endless, troughed conveyer belt 11 and a shoot mounted on the input end of the conveyer for movement between an in-operative position and an operative position in which it extends upwardly from spill plates 28, 30 to guide material discharged from the hopper on to the conveyer. The shoot comprises side walls 31 and an end wall 36, which bear against seals (35), Fig. 2 (not shown), attached to the upper edge of the pill plates, and is pivotally mounted at 46 for movement by an hydraulic ram 32 between its said positions. The frame 18 of the conveyer is mounted by rollers 19, 20 in a guideway 22 and is movable therealong by an hydraulic cylinder 23. The guideway 22 is mounted on a turntable 24 and is inclinable by means of an hydraulic cylinder 26. Pairs of location rollers 45 are attached to the frame 18 adjacent the input end of the conveyer to bear against rails 40, upon which the wagons move, to position the conveyer in relation to the hopper outlet. The conveyer may be mounted on a road or railway vehicle.
