Abstract

1,263,033. Telescopic shoots. ETABS. R. BEHIN. 6 July, 1970 [4 July, 1969], No. 32587/70. Heading B8S. A telescopic shoot 18, 19, Fig. 2, is sealed with the base of a hopper 12 by raising the portion 18 so that a ring 16 abuts a resilient sealing ring 11. The two parts of the shoot are sealed by a membrane 21. A door 15 closes the hopper. Springs 22, Fig. 1, urge the shoot upwards into sealing engagement and are compressed by rams 24 so that the door 15 may be opened. Fig. 3 shows an embodiment in which a door 15 is withdrawn by a ram 35, 36 into a sealed compartment 33 which is sealed by a resilient member 30. A seal 11 seals the shoot 16, 18, 19 to the hopper 12 after the door has been opened. (For Figures see next page.) 8
