Abstract

125,895. O'Reilly, W. E. Nov. 15, 1918. Razors, safety. In a safety razor in which the thin blade may be swung clear of the holder for cleaning, the blade c, Fig. 2, is provided near the ends with keyhole-shaped slots c<1> arranged at right-angles to the length of the blade. The larger portions of the slots are adapted to eugage V-shaped projections d struck up from the material of the holder a and arranged at an inclination to the line of the slots. The clip member b, Fig. 5, yields to allow the blade to be forced over the projections d. The blade is inserted or removed by a movement at right-angles to its length, and may consequently be swung out for cleaning from either end. A single slot and projection only may be provided at one end of the blade and holder respectively. The ends of the slots are rounded to facilitate engagement with the projections. The holder illustrated is adapted for attachment to the handle described in Specification 104,854.
