Abstract

1,258,177. Bottling; feeding viscous substances into containers. BIG DRUM Inc. 17 Dec., 1969 [21 Jan., 1969], No. 61459/69. Headings B8L and B8T. [Also in Division F2] Apparatus for filling a container simultaneously with different materials has a nozzle with a discharge orifice. The nozzle 21 has separate independent channels 47 leading into the discharge orifice 22. The material is fed into channels 47 from supply chambers 26, 27 through slots 40, 41 which are all angularly spaced from each other. The channels lead out through openings 51 into the discharge orifice 22. The supply chambers are fed via inlets 30, 31. The supply of material to the container is controlled by valve 50 which cuts off or permits flow from all the channel openings 51 simultaneously. This valve 13 controlled by cylinder and piston (17), Fig. 1 (not shown), and is operated synchronously with the raising and lowering of the filling unit as a whole during the filling operation.
