[Also in Divisions A4 and F2] In a crutch construction, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown), spigots 18 and 20 of a hollow or solid, or symetrically split, die-cast coupling member 10 carrying a hand grip 12 are coupled respectively to lower and upper tube sections of an elbow crutch, each spigot varying progressively along its length from a circular shape at its end 22 to an elliptical or oval shape at its base whilst the circumference remains the same. The end of the spigot may be extended by either a constant circular section portion or a lead-in tapered portion.
