Abstract
125,159. Saunders, S. E. June 21, 1916. Floats for aerial machines.-A rigid seaplane float a, Fig. 1, is constructed with tapering ends and of approximately oval cross-section with the longer axis vertical, as shown in Fig. 3. To facilitate lifting, the float may be fitted with fins b which may be fixed. or movablv mounted in housings so that, they may be withdrawn and projected, as desired. A landing-wheel c, mounted in a frame d carried by springs c, may be located in a housing f. The float may be built up of stitched wood sheeting as described in Specification 105,412, [Class 145 (ii), Wood, Working].
