Abstract
1,251,345. Light-sensitive film-forming polymers. EASTMAN KODAK CO. 21 Nov., 1968 [21 Nov., 1967], No. 55366/68. Headings C3H, C3P and C3R. [Also in Division G2] A light sensitive film forming polymer has units of formula linked to the polymer backbone, where R is H or C 1-5 alkyl, X is sulphonyl, sulphinyl, carbonyl or carbonyloxy group or a chemical bond and D is a quinone diazide residue. Polymers to which the above units may be attached include addition, condensation and natural polymers, e.g. polyaminostyrene, gelatine, casein or zein. The polymers may be made by reacting a sulphonyl or carbonyl chloride of a quinone diazide or a naphthaquinone (1,2) - diazide sulphochloride with an amino styrene polymer, e.g. a homopolymer or copolymer with methyl methacrylate or acrylonitrile, or with amino styrene which is then polymerized. The above polymers may be compounded with a phenol formaldehyde resin and an organic solvent.
