Abstract

1,246,160. Disproportionation process. BP CHEMICALS Ltd. 27 April, 1970 [12 June, 1969], No. 29972/69. Heading C2C. 1,10-Dicyandecane and dodecanedioic acid are produced by disproportionating 11-cyanoundecanoic acid at elevated temperatures. The reaction may be carried out in the presence of a dehydration catalyst, e.g. silica-alumina, a phosphate of boron or aluminium, or free phosphoric acid.
