Abstract

1,135,008. Escalators; conveyers. SENYO KOGYO CO. Ltd. 15 Nov., 1967 [16 Nov., 1966], No. 52015/67. Heading B8A. An escalator or conveyer adapted to negotiate curved paths of travel, as well as level stretches or gradients, has load carrying members 1 of substantial thickness, the leading and trailing surfaces of which are of arcuate form as viewed in both plan and elevation. Each member 1 has a forward pair of running wheels 11<SP>1</SP>, and a rearward pair of wheels 11 at a lower level. Each pair run on a respective pair of rails 12. The ball 6 of a ball joint connection has vertically and horizontally disposed pairs of diametrically projecting pins 5<SP>1</SP>, 5<SP>1</SP>, and 5, 5, respectively. A yoke 8 connected to the pins 5 is rigidly connected to the bottom of the associated member 1. Yokes 10, 10<SP>1</SP>, are connected respectively to the pairs of pins 5, 5, and 5<SP>1</SP>, 5<SP>1</SP>, and are rigid with leading and trailing ends of links 9. Each link 9 is connected to an adjacent link 9 by an associated ball joint.
