1,118,955. Filtering screen in open conduit. CHEPOS, ZAVODY CHEMICKEHO A POTRAVINARSKEHO STROJIRENSTVI BRNO, OBOROVY PODNIK. 14 April, 1967 [23 June, 19661, No. 17220/67. Heading BID. A filtering screen in an open water channel comprises parallel bars 15 bridging a frame, the upper parts of the bars being bent round a radius centred on shaft 4, scrapers 12, 13 and rotary combs 14 travelling on endless chains downstream of the screen, driven by an electric motor through shaft 4, gears 5 and lifting screened solids out of the water and into a trough 16 housing a conveyor belt, the screen and chain assembly being pivotable about shaft 4, out of the water, by chain 19. An angle piece 20 receives the lower edge of the frame. Combs 14 roll across and support bars 15 while maintaining their spacing.
