Abstract

1,118,699. Rotary toothbrushes.. S. LADEGAARD. 28 Oct., 1966, No. 48408/66. Heading A4K. A rotary toothbrush, in which flexible shafts 4 are journalled in diverging pairs of arms 6, 7, 8 and 9, provides a pair of contra-rotating concave brushing surfaces 3 for the outer faces of the upper and lower rows of teeth in the same side of the mouth and, on reversing the direction of rotation and aligning the spine 5 with the opposed biting surfaces of the teeth, a pair of convex brushing surfaces for the inner faces of these rows of teeth. An electric drive motor (10) may be detachably or permanently installed in the handle 1. Alternatively, a separate motor (11) may be connected to the brush by means of a flexible drive shaft (12).
