Abstract

1,118,464. Spray-producers. AUTOMOBILWERK EISENACH VEB. 20 Sept., 1965, No. 39947/65. Heading B2F. A spray head suitable for spraying a pigmented material of high viscosity comprises a spray material discharge outlet 22 formed in a nozzle 2 having an outer frustoconical surface, said outlet being controlled by a needle valve 19, a plurality of air guide channels 10 located around the frustoconioal surface and extending parallel to the generatrix thereof, and a baffle member 11 located forwardly of the air passages or channels 10. The member 11 is provided with apertures corresponding to the channels 10, each aperture being bounded radically by a surface inclined at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the member 11. A cap 4 on the head is provided with air horns 15 which are supplied with air to flatten the spray on rotation of the cap 4, the discharge being initially atomized by the air blast from the annular outlet 13. The head is associated with a body member 1 which is mounted in a spray gun body, not shown. The member 1 contains an air distributing ring 6.
