Abstract

1,112,421. Pipe joints. MASHEDER DESIGN STUDIES Ltd. 31 Dec., 1964 [31 Dec., 1963], No. 51403/63. Heading F2G. A pipe joint comprises two pipe terminations 1, 2 having integral collars 3, 4 which engage a sealing 30 at the inner peripheries thereof and are formed with grooves 5, 6, and one or more coupling devices each of which has first and second members to engage in the grooves and means by which the members may be urged together, at least the first member having a convex surface to abut against a complementary concave surface in one of the grooves. As shown, a member 8 is formed integrally on a body portion 9 linked through a member 10 to a body portion 11 through which extend screws 12 which urge a member 7 into the groove 5; the coupling devices 13 are semicylindrical in form. A sleeve 15 located by circlips 27, 28 may be fitted around the joint. The gap between the ends of the pipes is measured through holes 14 in the member 10. In a modification, the coupling device comprises four semi-cylindrical components.
