Abstract

1,110,129. Rotary printing machines. F. RUESCH, [trading as FERD. RUESCH, MASCHINEN FABRIK]. 3 Dec., 1965 [3 Dec., 1964], No. 51427/65. Heading B6C. In a multi-colour machine for printing labels on stock 4, Fig. 1 (not shown), comprising a self-adhesive backed web mounted on a temporary supporting strip the stock passes around a heated impression cylinder 1 coacting with three forme cylinders 2 and associated apparatus. The printed stock leaving the cylinder 1 passes to a cutting device 3 where the labels are cut-out but left on the temporary supporting strip. The waste parts of the adhesive backed web are gathered on a roller 8. The impression cylinder is designed with a conical shaped member 10, Fig. 3, connecting the jacket 12 to the hub 11. The jacket has a lip 13 and any expansion caused by the heaters 9 effects a shifting of the jacket parallel to the axis of the cylinder.
