1,199,069. Curing asbestos/cement mixtures. H. C. SCHULZE. 4 Dec., 1967, No. 55144/67. Heading C1H. Concrete articles are produced by mixing Portland cement, asbestos and silica with water, shaping, placing the shaped article in a chamber, introducing carbon dioxide into the chamber, allowing the article to surface set, removing from the chamber and subjecting to steam under pressure in an autoclave. Specified values of 5-30 wt. per cent asbestos, 20-45% silica, 25-50% Portland cement, atmospheres of 10-30% carbon dioxide and steam pressures of 100 p.s.i. are given.
