Abstract

1,192,965. Pure fluid-flow regulators. ROLLS ROYCE Ltd. Aug. 15, 1968 [Aug. 15, 1967], No. 37355/67. Heading G3H. A fluid-flow regulator which maintains a linear relationship between the pressure in line 10 and the flow from outlet 16, comprises a vortex amplifier 15 receiving a primary feed 13 via arifice 12, and a control feed 17 the pressure of which is determined by the degree of aspiration applied to chamber 30 (Fig. 7) of a device 18 by the suction arifice 27 (Fig. 10) of an ejector 19. Device 18 comprises a pressure jet 24 fed directly from line 10 and an aligned receiver 25 which provides the control feed 17. Ejector inlet 26 is also fed directly from line 10, its outlet 33 is connected to line 11 downstream of the amplifier and its suction arifice 27 is connected to part 28 of device 18. The Specification describes in detail the operating characteristics of the regulator and its components.
