Abstract

1,192,790. Urea-, thiourea- and phosphoric triamide deriatives. CIBA (A.R.L.) Ltd. 2 July, 1968 [20 July, 1967], No. 33504/67. Heading C2C. [Also in Division C3] The preparations of: (I) 1-benzoyl-3,3-dimethylurea; (II) 1 - benzoyl - 3,3 - dimethylthiourea; (III) 1 - (toluene - p - sulphonyl) - 3, 3 - dimethylurea; and (IV) N,N<SP>1</SP>,N<SP>11</SP> - tris- (dimethylcarbamoyl)-phosphoric triamide are disclosed. I was prepared by reaction of benzoyl isocyanate (0À12 mole) with anhydrous dimethylamine (0À11 mole) in diethyl ether in a vessel cooled with acetone and solid CO 2 . II was prepared by a similar process using benzoyl isothiocyanate. III was prepared by reacting dimethylamine with an equimolar proportion of toluene-p-sulphonyl isocyanate under similar conditions. IV was prepared by reaction of dimethylamine (0À9 mole) with phosphonyl triisocyanate (0À2 mole).
