Abstract

1,176,794. Moulding fibre-reinforced articles; laminates. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. 16 Feb., 1967 [18 Feb., 1966], No. 7212/66. Headings B5A and B5U. [Also in Division D1] A continuous shaped strip of constant crosssection is made by pulling a series of fibrous reinforcing sheets 11, 12, 13, 14, through a shaping die 19, impregnating the shaped strip thus formed by passage through a resin bath 31, and finally pulling the impregnated shaped strip through a heated passage to cure the resin and impart stiffness to the strip. The reinforcing sheets may be of woven cloth or in the form of a chopped strand mat and may be of glass fibre.
