Abstract

1,167,512. Embedment anchor. MAGNAVOX CO. 11 Oct., 1966, No. 16402/69. Divided out of 1,167,511. Heading B7S. An anchor comprises an anchor shaft 52 with a nose 58 mounted at one end, and flukes 24 foldably mounted on the nose, each fluke being pivotally mounted at its lower end to nose 58 so that the flukes are movable from folded positions parallel to the axis of the shaft to open positions, and each fluke is formed so that its centre of gravity is closer to the axis of the anchor shaft than the pivotal axis of the fluke when the flukes are folded. The anchor is shown as part of the mooring device described and claimed in Specification 1,167,511.
