Abstract
1,166,631. Electro-deposition of metals. S.A. VICKERS Ltd. Jan.27, 1967 [Dec.7, 1965], No.51851/65. Heading C7B. An electrolytic bath for electro-depositing (e.g. electro-forming or electro-winning) Fe, Co, Ni, Zn, Sn, Cu or Mn includes at least one watersoluble compound of such metal, at least one watersoluble acetylenic compound (a), at least one a, #- ethylenically unsaturated aromatic carboxylic acid or derivative thereof (b), and at least one difunctional organic acid containing in the molecule at least one carboxylic acid group and at least one sulphonic acid group (c). Examples of a, b and c are (a) propargyl alcohol or acrylate, 4-chloro- 2-butyn-l-ol and 3-hexyn-2, 5-diol, (b) cinnamic acid, cinnamaldehyde and 1, 2-benzopyrone and (c) sulphophthalic acid, sulphoisophthalic acid and sulphosalicylic acid.
