1,166,066. Waste heat boilers. L. & C. STEINMULLER G.m.b.H. 7 Nov., 1966, No. 49740/66. Heading F4A. A waste heat boiler, supplied with hot flue gases from an external source through duct 6, is provided with auxiliary burners 11 mounted in the floor of combustion chamber 9 surrounding the duct 6. By regulation of louvres 8, 15, gases from either or both sources may be passed wholly or in part through central by-pass duct 3 to exhaust stack 17, or over main heat transferring surfaces 2, and then through slots 14 to the exhaust stack 17. Gases from the burners 11, will additionally pass over inlet heat transferring surfaces 1. Gases from a further external source may replace those from the burners 11.
