Abstract

1,165,048. Burners. COMBUSTION ENG., Inc. 17 Nov., 1967 [23 Dec., 1966], No. 52513/67. Heading F4T. In a steam boiler furnace 10 having burners 12 burning fuel such as pulverized coal ignited by igniter torches 20 air is supplied to each igniter at a stabilized pressure by boosting the pressure of air, supplied from the main air duct 16, by a fan 24 and causing it to flow through a flow restriction device 26 in the supply duct 22 so that it is supplied to the igniter at a suitable pressure whatever the fluctuation of pressure in the main duct as the boiler load varies.
