Abstract
1,163,594. Rubber compositions. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 28 Sept., 1966 [1 Oct., 1965; 6 May, 1966], No. 43419/66. Addition to 1,049,085. Headings C3P and C3Q. [Also in Division Dl] A rubber mixture contains a methylol melamine or ester or ether thereof containing not more than 5 methyl, ester, or ether groups per molecule. The composition may also contain a meta disubstituted benzene or 1,5-dihydroxynaphthalene as methylene acceptor so as to form a resin in situ on heating to vulcanize the rubber. The composition will bond directly to tyre cords.
