Abstract
1,162,924. Vanadium alloying additives for steels. FR ELEKTROMETALLURGIE G.m.b.H. May 28, 1968 [May 29,1967], No. 25543/68. Heading C7A and C7D. An alloying additive for steels is obtained by the solid-state reduction of vandium pentoxide (or material containing it) with carbon unier atmospheric pressure at 1200 -1500 C., and consists, by weight, of:- V 70 - 85% O 1À8 - 10% C 5 - 20% N 0À5-4%. The additive may be used in comminuted form e.g. in tin boxes or paper or plastics bags, or in the form of briquettes, pellets or porous sinter. It may contain a reducing agent such as Si, Al, FeSi, FeAl or FeSiAl.
