Abstract
1,161,869. Preventing theft. G. OLIVIER. 31 July, 1968, No. 36633/68. Addition to 1.112,934. Heading E2X. A device for storage of bank-notes etc. comprises a receptacle, ignitable elements therein which support bank notes etc., placed on edge, elements for holding the bank notes etc., under pressure on said element, means for igniting said elements and operating means for actuating said igniting means if the receptacle is unduly opened or destroyed. In one embodiment the receptacle is substantially as described in the parent specification but the elements ignite if the case is opened or destroyed e.g. conductors (17) in the wall are cut if the wall of the receptacle is cut contacts (18, 19) are opened if the lid is opened, and even if these fail a photo-electric cell (20) is actuated by the ambient light when the lid is opened. In a modification a safe has hollow walls which are filled with pressure gas and connected to a monometric device so the piercing of the safe wall will cause loss of pressure and ignition of the ignitable elements.
