Abstract

1,156,435. Treating textile fibres. VYZKUMNY USTAV ZUSLECHTOVACI. 25 March, 1968 [31 March, 1967], No. 14259/68. Heading D1L. Textile fibrous materials are treated with an aerosol by filtering the latter through a layer of uniformly moved fibres one surface of which is continually renewed by fresh fibres whilst the other is continually removed. The aerosol is propelled through the layer by pressure difference and may. be electrically charged. Fresh material 57 is added to the top of a column 1 and removed at 53 whilst subject to a current (or counter-current, not shown) 517 of aerosol charged air. Pneumatic delivery of the fibres is achieved by blower 22. A heater 33 and aerosol generator 35 are provided and the particles of aerosol are charged by a corona discharge at 39. Drying of the fibres is carried out in the apparatus shown and similar (counter-current) apparatus [Fig. 2] is used for lubricating wool fibres.
