Abstract

1,155,794. Box pallets; boxes. ASHTON CONTAINERS Ltd. 12 June, 1968 [19 May, 1967], No. 23443/67. Addition to 1,155,564. Headings B8H and B8P. A container of corrugated fibreboard mounted on a pallet 20 comprises a tubular body 21 of octagonal cross-section, a top cap 22, a bottom cap 23 and a tube 24 of flexible material, e.g. polyethylene, the upper end of which is folded over the top edge of the body 21 and secured thereto by the top cap 22. The lower end of the tube 21 is folded upon itself to form a closure 25. Before loading the bag formed by the tube 21 a tapering funnel comprising a ring of eight sections 11 is inserted in the body 21. (Each section 11 is folded from a blank, Fig. 2 (not shown), and one such section is shown, viewed from underneath, in Fig. 4). Both caps 22, 23 have outlet means in the form of a pair of opposing flaps 26. The container can thus be discharged from underneath by gravity, or from above by using a suction pipe (not shown).
