Abstract

1,153,525. Endless conveyers. G. ASSMANN. 31 Jan., 1967 [2 Feb., 1966], No. 4561/67. Heading B8A. [Also in Division A2] Baking plates (1), (Fig. 2, not shown) after being spread with a baking product (see Division A2), and fed by a conveyer (2) on to conveyer bands 5 are engaged two at a time by respective arms 7, 8 which pivot towards each other to bring the two plates and their products into a single sandwich-like formation. The arms 7, 8 are mounted on a trolley 15 so that under the control of a photoelectric device (30) they may be moved along parallel with the bands 5. The rails on which the trolley runs are raised so that starting in position I the arms 7, 8 lift the plates (1) off the bands 5. In position II the arms 7, 8 are closing. In positions III and IV the arms 7, 8 are held together for a predetermined period as they move along the conveyer. In positions V and VI the arms are opening out and are being lowered to deposit the sandwiched plates back on to the belts 5. The arms 7, 8, have resiliently-mounted plate-engaging members 21. The arms 7, 8 are constrained in the radial direction by a stop 27 on each arm 7, 8 which bears on a fixed guide member 28.
