Abstract
1,148,013. Cyclododecanone oxime. STAMICARBON N.V. 10 Feb., 1967 [11 Feb., 1966], No. 6450/67. Heading C2C. Cyclododecanone oxime is prepared by reacting cyclododecanone at 15-120‹ C. in the presence of a water-miscible solvent with an aqueous solution of a hydroxylamine mineral acid salt, the pH being kept in the range of from 4-6 by addition of a base and the said watermiscible solvent being an organic solvent with a boiling point in the range from 60‹ to 120‹ C., whereby two heterogeneous liquid organic and aqueous phases are formed and cyclododecanone oxime is obtained from the organic phase. Specified solvents are dioxane, propanol, isopropanol, tertiary butanol, acetonitrile and tetrahydrofuran. In a modification, a waterimmiscible extraction liquid in which the oxime dissolves is added before the two heterogeneous phases are separated.
