An animal identification tag comprises a pair of discs, one disc having a projection 4 extending from one face, the other disc having a sleeve 5 extending from one face and adapted to receive the projection. In order to prevent relative rotation of the discs when assembled, splines or ribs are provided on the projection and/or sleeve.
