Abstract

1,039,594. Controlling burners. HONEYWELL CONTROLS Ltd. April 7, 1965 [April 7, 1964], No. 14259/64. Addition to 977,001. Heading F4T. The control circuit shown in Fig. 2 of the parent Specification 977,001 is provided with an additional two-way switch 76a (Figure not shown) actuated by a pump or a valve supplying liquid fuel to the burner and adapted to energize an additional lamp 121 when the liquid fuel valve is shut but the detector 10a detects the pulverized fuel flame instead of a liquid fuel flame. The switch 76a may be connected as shown in the Figure to the movable contact of the relay 25a energized by the detector 10a or it may be connected between a fixed contact of that relay and the lamp N2. When the upper contact of the switch 76a is closed in consequence of the closed condition of the liquid fuel valve and the detector 10a detects a flame, the relay 25a closes an additional contact 73a<SP>1</SP> which energizes the lamp R1. A micro ammeter or a multivoltmeter LL and MM is connected into each control circuit L, M of the flame detectors and serves to indicate stable and unstable flame conditions. A switch may be actuated by a fuel valve or fuel pump or pulverized fuel mill to apply a large current to the meters LL and MM when the fuel supply is switched off.
