1,037,789. Gas-scrubbers. J. B. THORNE & SON Ltd. Oct. 8, 1963 [Oct. 9, 1962], No. 38244/62. Heading B1R. Gas to be scrubbed is direct on to the surface of a body of liquid 11 by passage downwardly through an inlet duct 18 terminating in an enlarged outlet 22 and after being deflected outwardly is deflected inwardly by a baffle 28 arranged on the inner wall of the vessel containing the liquid. A cylindrical baffle 32 may be arranged below the outlet as shown and the flanged portion of the outlet 22 may be horizontal.
