Abstract
1,031,352. Granulating-machines. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. Feb. 1, 1963 [Feb. 1, 1962], No. 3911/62. Heading B5A. An inclined, rotating dish granulator for e.g. fuel ash, has a curved wall 21 which causes the larger pellets to recirculate (as shown by the three-headed arrows) in the rising side of the pan. Smaller particles pass through a slot in the wall 21, near the peripheral wall of the pan, to the downward side of the pan, where they meet a deflector 23 and fall down (as shown by the two-headed arrows) to meet incoming seed pellets entering at 15. Water is sprayed into the material at 17, and dry powder material added at 16. A scraper 20 bears against the outer periphery of the pan to dislodge any powder therefrom, and is spaced from the bottom of the pan and is of aerofoil section (see Figs. 3 and 4, not shown).
