Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:1026922/C2/1> wherein X represents up to 5 substituents, at least one of which is in the o- or m-position, selected from F, Cl, Br, I, NO2, OH, CO2H, SO3H, OR, SR, SO3R, SO2NH2, CN, SCN, NH2, NHR, NR2, halogenated R and halogenated phenyl, R being C1- 3 alkyl. These compounds are prepared by reacting the corresponding chloro-, bromo- or iodo-acetanilides at up to 300 DEG C. with a fluoride of Li, Na, K, Sb, Cu, Hg, Ag, Co, Tl or Zn.ALSO:Insecticidal and acaricidal compositions comprise compounds of formula <FORM:1026922/A5-A6/1> wherein X represents up to 5 substituents, at least one of which is in the o- or m-position, selected from F, Cl, Br, I, NO2, OH, CO2H, SO3H, OR, SR, SO3R SO2NH2, CN2SCN, NH2, NHR, NR2, halogenated R and halogenated phenyl (R being C1-3 alkyl) and a carrier or solvent therefor. The usual adjuvants may be utilized to make e.g. dusts, wettable or soluble powders, or emulsifiable concentrates.
