Abstract

1,025,169. Stud and socket fastenings; clamps. GENERAL MOTORS-HOLDENS PTY Ltd. Sept. 21, 1964 [Oct. 28, 1963], No. 38510/64. Heading E2B. Means for retaining cables, wires, tubes and the like against an apertured support comprises two laterally opposed pairs of legs, the inner legs 4 of each pair being united at their inner ends by a transverse web 3 so as to form a central portion of substantially inverted U-shape when viewed from the side, each pair of legs being of substantially U-shaped formation with inner and outer sections united by a return bend portion 6, the outer section 4a of each pair being laterally spaced in relation to its inner section so as to form a unitary retainer of substantially W-form when viewed from one side, the retainer being composed of a resilient material and the outer edge of each of the outer leg sections 4a being provided with one or a series of longitudinally spaced shoulders or abutments 11 which are adapted to co-operate with apertures in the support. The shoulders 11 may be formed by grooves, serrations or slots.
