Abstract
1,020,587. Measuring liquid level electrically. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. March 18, 1964 [March 19, 1963], No. 10942/63. Heading G1N. A gauge measuring the liquid level is in a container 1 comprises a conductive probe which penetrates the liquid to a predetermined depth D, and with the liquid forms one arm of a self balancing A.C. bridge ABCD. When the liquid level rises and falls an output signal appears at BD which is amplified at 5 and energizes one winding 6 of a two-phase motor 7 causing the motor to return the probe to depth D and to operate a digital indicator 9.
